The stability it offers while paddling with a partner is impressive, and it glides through the water effortlessly. The ample storage space is perfect for our day trips. Great to see such a thorough review showcasing its features! Thanks for sharing!

James,

I haven’t personally tested the 15′ bodyglove. However, if the 15′ Bodyglove vs Bluefin comparison is the same as the single-person boards, then I think you will have a better experience with the Bluefin.

Jonny,

Great question. The main difference between the two is the dual air chambers you get with the Cruise Carbon line. This adds a lot of rigidity to the boards and makes the Carbon series one of the stiffest inflatable SUP on the market. I personally think it’s worth the extra $$$, but that doesn’t mean the Cruise series isn’t a worthwhile purchase. The Cruise is possibly the most bang/buck offered currently. So it really comes down first to your budget level, and second to if the increased rigidity (which improves performance for more intermediate/advanced paddlers) is worth the money to you personally.

I hope that helps!

Just wondered if the Cruise Carbon is significantly better to justify the increased price or if the cruise is still a worthwhile purchase? Thanks.

Karen,

We haven’t had the chance to compare the Bluefin Tandem to the Red Paddle Co 15′ Voyager. Given how Red Paddle Co’s boards tend to perform, I would guess that the Red is going to paddle a little bit better. However, when it comes to value/$$ I don’t think you’ll find a better value than the Bluefin 15′ tandem (either the Cruise or Cruise Carbon models). Bluefin is also one of the companies that can accurately boast having super stiff boards with their Carbon lineup. The dual chamber design really does make the board stiff.

I hope that helps, and sorry we are hoping to get the 15′ Voyager in later this summer!

Went on a 75 mile primitive camping trip with a friend on Florida’s Peace River using their voyager tandem and wondering if one is superior to the other.

Dan,

Yes, the 15′ Cruise can be paddled by one person – that was one of the first questions I had when we got the board in. It is harder to carry once inflated, but I was able to do so (5’11 and around 175lbs). I would not call this the ideal single person SUP, but if the primary goal is to paddle with your wife together, and secondary goal is being able to paddle alone, then I would recommend this on over the Blackfin XL or Thurso Waterwalker 132. You will struggle a little bit paddling with 2 people on the Blackfin (I can paddle with my 12 year old daughter, but I struggle paddling with my wife), and you will struggle further paddling with two people on the Thurso. Either the Thurso or Blackfin will be ok for 2 people where one is paddling and the other is sitting down – but not so great for two people standing and paddling together.

Will this board also be suitable for one person? We will be using this on lakes. Thanks. Also considering the Thurso Waterwalker 132 and the Blackfin XL.
